I have a bone to pick with this song and any other that sounds like it. Do I belong to God, absolutely. He purchased my life with the blood of Christ and loved me when nobody else did. But does he belong to me; is God mine? Now it is a given fact that He is my God, my savior, my everything. However when I hear that something is mine it shows possession. In other words this blog page is mine, my cell phone is mine, my ipod is mine. I do not have possession of my God.
Maybe it is the theology that I have learned about the sovereignty and grandeur of God but I can not limit him to a possession. I’m sorry, I don’t mean to sound all religious or anything but that’s just what I believe about God.
