So I had another little mini vacation this weekend. Just two days. I went up to Monterey with the sisters and the parents this weekend. It’s interesting, half of Monterey seems to be extremely sunny and the other half is overcast, all at the same time. Asilomar is on the cloudy side so you know I love it! Gray skies over the loud crashes of the waves make for a great thinking/relaxation spot. Unfortunately, I didn't get to do much of it there. I was with the fam so if I go off to take time for myself they would have thought something was wrong.
My best friend showed up and all but I don't know, things seem to be different between us. To be truthful they've always been like that. She seems to be the best friend ever when we talk on the phone and when we hang out in person, she’s acts distant. I don't know, I didn't really let it bother me thought cause I know that is what she is like.
Well anyways, we went to cannery row and Fisherman's wharf. The parents loved it because they had never been out there before. It's nice to see the parents happy. We stayed at a best western and guess what, I HAD TO STAY IN A ROOM WITH THE PARENTS! lol. At one point I left to the girls’ room to watch a movie (by the way, it was training day, which I hadn't watched in years!) And we kept on joking about how the parents needed some "grown up" time. lol.
The next day we went back to the wharf and had clam chowder in bread bowls, which was phenomenal! We toured the wharf for a little while and ended up going to Santa Cruz as well, which the parents had never been to either. Good times with the fam though. I had fun although I didn't get any "me" time to sit and think.
About Me
- J
- I love writing. If you want to know anything else just ask me or else read up! I have two blogs ("A Pen Itching To Bleed Onto Paper" and "The Rebirth of J"). One of my blogs (A Pen...) is updated more frequently than the other. "The Rebirth” is more of a story I am writing with my life whereas "A Pen" would be my random thoughts past, present, and future in this unfolding journey I call life. If this is your first time reading my blog, please visit Post #2 for the month of April 2008 in my "A Pen" blog archives... Thanks!
