This song reminds me of LA. This past month I went to LA for
four days. I walked around the big city all by myself. I saw sky scrapers, busy
city streets, palm trees, traffic, sunsets, etc. As I sat back in a lounge
chair in the pool area of The Universal Sheraton I thought to myself that I
really disliked the big city. Don’t get me wrong, it was beautiful. This song
reminded me of the beauty of the town as seen on Celeste and Jessie but
honestly I have changed. When I was in my early 20’s I wanted to move out to a
big city and I hated my country roots. I thought I was meant for the big city
and lights and people and all of that. But as I enjoyed an LA summer sunset I realized
that even those desires are behind me. LA was nice but I love being in good old
Nor Cal. Yes, it is hot as hell but it’s where my wife is, it’s where my heart
is, it’s home.
