I leave you all with this thought.
As I was leaving one of the local high schools I ran across this quote written out on a whiteboard.
“Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened.” - Dr. Seuss
Come on now, let's be real here, would anybody agree to this... Well at least when it comes to friendship. I've lost a lot of friends to stupid stuff. Mostly the fact that people don't know how to be real friends.
My problem is that I genuinely care for people. I worry if they are going through things, I pray for them I encourage them, etc. So when they end up leaving or just not caring back, it messes me up especially if I've cared about them for a long time. So can I just smile as i think about them... HELL NO! Good riddance!

over the past years, i've gotten cynical because i've been through the same situation countless of times - caring genuinely and getting hurt for it.
i agree with the quote though as i learned that people touch our lives for a reason, a season or a lifetime...
i get hurt, yes, but i am sure i have hurt others too. i am not the only one a friend walked out on. i also walked out on some friends for a reason or two. it's just a cycle and whatever the friend's decision is, i have to respect that. no use getting bitter about it or angry at a friend. it's self-destructive.
but yeah, it does make me cynical and afraid to trust people again.
There are not many situations that I think that quote can be applied to... In my opinio anyway.
