About Me

My photo
I love writing. If you want to know anything else just ask me or else read up! I have two blogs ("A Pen Itching To Bleed Onto Paper" and "The Rebirth of J"). One of my blogs (A Pen...) is updated more frequently than the other. "The Rebirth” is more of a story I am writing with my life whereas "A Pen" would be my random thoughts past, present, and future in this unfolding journey I call life. If this is your first time reading my blog, please visit Post #2 for the month of April 2008 in my "A Pen" blog archives... Thanks!

The Church...

So based off of my own opinions and those of the bloggers that I read, what type of church would be the perfect church? What does that look like? Now in my life I feel God calling me to be the pastor of a church. Now, given that I have had bad experiences with churches in the past (and present, lol) I figure I’m gonna try to start the change in today’s church that makes tomorrows church a righteous one. So what would a “good church” look like?

The vision –
Belief in Holy trinity
Agape love towards God and other people.
Worship in excellence, spirit and truth.
Discipleship for all ages.
Hunger to reach the lost, dying and hurting of this world.
(Feel Free to add suggestions here.)

Aside from that…
Preaching – ½ hr to 45 minutes at most, we don’t want people falling asleep. Preaching God’s truth and not that of the world. Focusing on sin in general and what it does to your relationship with God.

Teaching – only biblical Truths, not peoples opinion or teaching based on tradition. Firm teaching on Worship, sin, the Holy Spirit, our love towards one another, and growth in your relationship with God.

Worship – Spirit and truth. Allowing God’s spirit to move freely as we worship. Freedom to worship in all biblical expressions.

Spiritual ministries – Biblical spiritual gifts encouraged and help to develop these gifts. (Ex. prophecy, healing etc. )

Discipleship – there is a need for people to grow in their relationship with God but they can’t just hear how to do it, they have to be shown.

Evangelism – reaching out to populations that are dying and hurting and letting them know about the love of Christ.

Community service – Showing the love of Christ to our community through serving. Serving our community.

Cell Groups – Promoting Christian friendships, fellowship, and accountability.
This is all I have so far. Anybody care to add on??

Definately include missions trips... even if they're in the u.s. but it sounds good. a place to equip and minister to God and man/woman:)
